CHPAPTER 1 Continuing the strategic course ANNUAL REPORT A confident strategy for paperless courts In line with the government’s approach towards smart transformation and in response to the requirements of sustainable development and social responsibility, Dubai Courts has for several years been launching various initiatives that encouraged the reduction of paper consumption in the context of its strategic orientation towards smart transformation while undertaking its functions and providing its various services to all customer groups. Last year witnessed the achievement of qualitative leaps in this context, as the Dubai paperless strategy, which was developed in 2018 with the goal of employing advanced technology in building an integrated system of government work without papers entirely by 2021, was adopted, as Dubai Courts enrolled in that strategy in 2019 through the launch of a range of initiatives that will reduce the consumption of paper in various work streams as part of the first stage to achieve the targets: 46
