Criminal Court of first instance

About the court and its jurisdiction
One of the specialized Courts in Courts of First Instance that is presided over by a judge whose grade is not less than an appeal judge and who, in terms of administrative supervision, reports to the Court President of the Courts of First Instance. It has the power to consider and render judgements in all crimes such as felonies, misdemeanors and violations, which are punishable by punitive laws applicable in the State.
The Court is composed of a number of circuits, as follows: 

1- Grand Felonies Circuits, which consider felonies punishable by death and life imprisonment 
2- Minor Felonies Circuits, which consider felonies punishable by temporary imprisonment 
3- Misdemeanor Circuits, which consider misdemeanors punishable by imprisonment or fine
4- Traffic Misdemeanor Circuits, which consider crimes related to traffic law
5- Nationality and Residency Misdemeanors Circuits, which consider crimes stipulated in the law in terms of entry and residency of foreigners 
6- Juvenile Crimes Circuits, which consider crimes committed by juvenile in pursuant to Juvenile Law applicable in the State  
7- Family Crimes Circuits, which consider crimes committed within a single family
8- Money Laundering Crimes Circuits, which consider felonies related to money laundering according to applicable legislations in the State
9- Circuits of One Day Misdemeanor Court

Court formation 
- The Court of Grand Felonies is composed of three judges.
- The Minor Felonies Circuits and the remaining misdemeanor circuits are composed of a single judge.
